Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Ashmore Reef, Maldives, Seychelles to Oceania, north to Southern Japan, and south to the Great Barrier Reef.

Size: 4 inches (10 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow sandy areas in protected lagoons and usually found at depths between 3 - 65 feet (1 - 20 m) where it lives in burrows and feeds by sifting mouthfuls of sand to capture small invertebrates and organic matter.

General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.

FYI: Shown here for identification only, yet should it become available, aquarium husbandry would be similar to V. helsdingenii.
