Range: Widespread in the British Isles generally on western shores of Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Wales and England. Europe: Portugal, Spain and France. Further afield: Canary Islands, the Azores and South Africa.

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocks in shady pools, lower intertidal and subtidal areas.

Aquarium Suitability: Not a suitable tropical aquarium species.
