Range: Eastern Atlantic coast from Nova Scotia to warm subtropical regions around the east and west coasts of Florida and into the Caribbean.

Natural Environment: Inhabits estuaries and bays, especially high nutrient areas, as well as high-energy coastline habitats. Grows free or attached to rocks and can reach a height/length of 12 inches (30 cm).

Aquarium Suitability: Even though not considered a routine aquarium species, can be a somewhat interesting addition to aquarium and can be easy to control.
