Range: Circumtropical

Natural Environment: Inhabits lower tidal habitats, e.g., tidepools, protected rocky shores, and bays, where it grows in mats.

Aquarium Suitability: Even though an edible seaweed in Hawaii, its an invasive species in aquariums and should be totally removed from any coral species or live rock going into the aquarium, or totally removed when its first seen in aquariums, as it will spread and there appears no species that will eat it.
