Range: Vancouver to the Baja of California.

Natural Environment: Inhabits lower tidal habitats, e.g., tidepools, protected rocky shores, and bays, where it grows in tufts and mats.

Aquarium Suitability: A cool water species, and therefore not a desired tropical aquarium species.
