Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Indonesia to Line and Pitcairn Islands, north to Southern Japan, south to Lord Howe and Rapa Islands.

Size: 28 inches (70 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits coastal lagoons and seaward reefs and usually found at depths between 3 – 200 feet (1 – 60 m) where it feeds mainly on algae.

General Husbandry: Colors vary between sexes and its stage of growth (phase). Not collected for the trade.
