Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Mauritius to the Line, Marquesan, and Tuamotu Islands, north to the Hawaiian Islands, south to New Caledonia and the Cook Islands.

Size: 8 inches (20 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky seaward reefs and usually found at depths between 3 – 100 feet (1 – 30 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans/zooplankton during evening hours.

General Husbandry: Has a greyish body. As of 2016, not collected for the trade.
