Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa to Hawaiian, Tuamotu and Pitcairn Islands, and south to the Great Barrier Reef and Austral Islands.
Size: 2 inches (4 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits outer reef slopes on rocky reefs and can be found singly at depths between 80 to 400 feet (25 – 120 m), where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.
General Husbandry: Has a mottled reddish body. Not collected for the trade.
