Range: Eastern Central Pacific Ocean: Baja California to Mexico.

Size: 34 inches (85 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky bottom areas on shallow inshore reefs and is found at depths between 3 – 200 feet (1 – 60 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a greyish brown body with small reddish spots and lines, yet will exhibit a yellow-orange phase during mating season. Not collected for the trade.
