Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Christmas Island (Indian Ocean), Marshal, Tuamotu, Samoa, Pitcairn and Cook Islands.

Size: 2 inches (5 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits bottom areas on coral reefs in lagoons and can be found singly at depths between 15 to 150 feet (5 – 45 m), where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a pale tannish body with vertical brownish bands. Not purposely collected for the trade.

FYI: A hawkfish-like species dwelling on substrates waiting for a meal to come close enough to be captured and eaten.
