Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Southern Japan, Taiwan, Guam, Philippines, South China Sea, Samoa, and Tahiti in French Polynesia.

Size: 18 inches (40 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits deep waters, and is found at depths between 300 – 800 feet (90 – 250 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: A rare species. Not collected for the trade.
