Range: Central Pacific Ocean: Indonesia and Papua New Guinea to the Hawaiian Islands, and south to New Caledonia.

Size: 3 inches (9 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits tidepools and lagoons and is usually found at depths between about 3 to 80 feet (1 – 20 m), yet also deeper waters, and basically feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has various color forms, e.g., a mottled reddish form, solid yellow, and often pale white. Has not been collected for the trade.
