Class: Anthozoa
Subclass: Hexacorallia

Order: Scleractinia

Family Agariciidae

Pachyseris

Common names include Elephant Skin Coral and Phonograph Record Coral. There is plate-like growth with P. rugosa having heavily pronounced meandering ridges and some vertical columns, yet neither have visible polyps. It did well in my aquariums directly under medal halide light and where water surges occurred. Generally this photosynthetic coral is a light brown, however, my specimen had a slight green tinge.

  • P. speciosa Groove / Phonograph Record Coral
