Common Name: Knobby False Coral
Species Name: Ricordia yuma Duchassaing & Michelotti, 1860
Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean
Natural Environment: Usually found moderately high up on the reefs and on substrate high up in tide pools
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 to 82°F (22 - 27°C) and can occasionally be fed small pieces of fresh fish flesh/clam/shrimp. A good identifying feature is its upraised mouth, which is surrounded by a ring of tentacles (Vincent Hargreaves, 2003). I have used a Marc Weiss product called 'Combo-Vital' and had excellent results with it. Aggressive, and may injure/sting corals, therefore give sufficient space around other animals.
