Common Name: Sebae/Hawaiian/White Sand Anemone
Species Name: Heteractis malu (Haddon & Shackleton, 1893)
Range: Eastern Pacific Ocean: Also near and around the Hawaiian Islands
Natural Environment: Lives singly in shallow sandy and gravel areas
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 65 to 75°F (18 - 24°C). Requires strong light and a deep substrate. If it wanders in the aquarium it will destroy corals. Most clownfish do not like this anemone, and besides, it's difficult to maintain, with Hawaiian specimens probably the best choice.
