Common Name: Golden Anemone
Species Name: Condylactis auranitica (Delle Chiaje, 1825)
Range: Sub-tropical Eastern Atlantic Ocean/Mediterranean
Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy and muddy bottom areas
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 59 to 75°F (15 - 24°C). Requires somewhat cooler water and hand feeding, e.g., raw fish pieces, shrimp, tubifex worms, and is especially fond of mussel flesh. Two to three feedings per month suffices as they can get quite large, about 20 inches (50 cm). Does well in captivity if it has its own environment.
