Species Name: Actinia tenebrosa Farquhar, 1898
Range: New Zealand, Tasmania
Natural Environment: Inhabits tidepools and shaded vertical rock walls, often found in clusters.
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 50 to 68°F (10 - 20°C). Rarely seen in the trade, and requires cool water and hand feeding, e.g., raw fish pieces, shrimp, tubifex worms, and is especially fond of mussel flesh. Two to three feedings per month suffices in cool water environments.
