Species Name: Octopus vulgaris Cuvier, 1797
Range: Widespread in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans
Natural Environment: Inhabit rocky intertidal areas
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 65 to 75°F (18 - 24°C). Feeds mainly on crabs and clams, but will also consume fish and shrimp meat. Has a main body diameter of about 10 inches (25 cm). Generally not an aquarium specimen, and shown here for identification purpose.
