Common Name: Blue Boxing Shrimp
Species Name: Stenopus tenuirostris (Olivier, 1811)
Range: Tropical Central Indo-Pacific from South Africa to Indonesia
Natural Environment: Inhabits deeper coral reef environments and found mostly in caves and under overhangs
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 68 to 79°F (20 - 26°C). A very shy and small species, usually not over 1 or 2 inches in length (2 - 5 cm). Rarely imported, and in fact rarely seen in the wild. Requires a meaty diet and hiding places if you're lucky enough to purchase one.
