Common Name: Stimpson's Snapping Shrimp
Species Name: Synalpheus stimpsoni (De Man, 1888)
Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean, from east Africa to Australia and Japan
Natural Environment: Inhabits only the central disc of crinoids, usually Comanthina schlegeli
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 to 82°F (22 - 28°C). Rarely ever seen, and not part of the aquarium trade. This small shrimp, 1.5 inch (3.5 cm) is shown here for identification only.
