Species Name: Periclimenes brevicarpalis (Schenkel, 1902)
Range: Tropical Indo-Pacific from the Red Sea and East Africa to Australia
Natural Environment: Coral reef environments and lives in symbiosis with anemones, urchins, and sand dollars
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 73 to 83°F (23 - 28°C). They are less than 2 inches (4 cm) in length, transparent except for purple spots on the dorsal half of the abdomen, and opaque white strips along the back edge of the dorsal shell. They also have purple bands on both claws. Depends upon the cleaning process for its food, and is difficult to maintain. Not a good idea to maintain with large fishes. Also, keep in mind it has to leave the anemone when it molts, therefore can easily be eaten by larger fishes. Depends upon the cleaning process for its food
