Common Name: Reef Mantis Shrimp
Species Name: Gonodactylus bredini (Manning, 1985)
Range: Western Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico to Ecuador
Natural Environment: Burrows under intertidal and subtidal rocks
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 74 to 79°F (23 - 26°C). This common reef mantis is a dull green color and small, about 2 inches (5 cm). It makes for a very dangerous creature to have on the loose in any aquarium and often arrives in live rock from Gulf of Mexico.
