Range: Eastern Atlantic Ocean: Mediterranean to Angola, and also in the western Atlantic Ocean: Nova Scotia to Bermuda, Gulf of Mexico to Argentina
Size: Up to 24 in (60 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits bays, lagoons and seaward reefs
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 79°F (22 - 26°C) and has a natural diet of benthic invertebrate. Requires a meaty diet, including fortified brine shrimp, mysis, chopped fish or shrimp flesh, and meaty type frozen carnivore foods with two or three feedings per day. Rarely seen in the trade.
