Range: Western Central Pacific Ocean: Sulawesi, Kalimantan, to Bali and the Timor Sea
Size: Up to 17 in (43 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit shallow coastal reefs and estuaries
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 70 - 82°F (21 - 28°C) and has a natural diet of benthic invertebrate and small fishes. More or less a public aquarium fish, as its size is far too large for most hobbyist aquariums. Require a meaty diet, i.e., chopped fresh fish or shrimp flesh, scallops, and squid, with two or three feedings per day and generally feeds at night. Rarely seen in the trade, probably better left in the wild.
