Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa to Hawaiian, Ducie and Marquesan Islands, southern Japan, Lord Howe Islands


Size: Up to 30 in (75 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit lagoons and seaward reef slopes


General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 83°F (22 - 28°C) and has a natural diet consisting mostly of zooplankton and algae. Requires a varied vegetable diet, including fresh macroalgae, Spirulina, dried seaweed, and enriched vegetable flakes and requires two or three feedings per day. Better suited for public aquariums. Rarely seen in the hobbyist trade.
