Range: Endemic to Hawaiian and Johnston islands


Size: Up to 7 in (17 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit deep outer reefs


General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 70 - 81°F (21 - 27°C) and its natural diet consists mainly of detritus. Requires a varied diet, including fresh macroalgae, Spirulina, dried seaweed (nori), and enriched vegetable flakes and some meaty foods and two or three feedings per day. Will browse on filamentous algae. A good algae scraper.
