Natural Environment: Inhabit deep outer reefs
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 77 - 81°F (25 - 27°C) and its natural diet consists mainly of algae. Requires a varied vegetable diet, including fresh macroalgae, Spirulina, dried seaweed, and enriched vegetable flakes, and requires two or three feedings per day. Will browse on filamentous algae. Usually, those seen on the market come from Hawaii. Undergoes a color change with age. Juveniles are beautiful with a blue variegated pattern over an orange background. Adults are a deeper colored orange with darkish blue uneven horizontal lines.
