Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Massachusetts to Bermuda, and south to Brazil; also Gulf of Mexico
Size: Up to 34 in (85 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit lagoons, reef faces and reef slopes
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C) and has a natural diet of smaller fishes and benthic invertebrate. Requires a meaty diet, i.e., chopped fish and/or shrimp flesh, mysis, scallop, frozen carnivore foods, with two or three feedings per day. Too large as an adult for most aquaria.
