Species Name: Lutjanus ehrenbergii (Peters, 1869)
Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa to Solomon and Mariana Islands, and Hong Kong
Size: Up to 14 in (35 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit coral reefs with juveniles found over rubble bottoms and in mangrove areas and estuaries
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C) and has a natural diet of smaller fishes and various benthic invertebrate (shrimp and crabs). Basically a human food fish and not purposely collected for the aquarium trade. Shown here for identification only.
