Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and Arabian Gulf east to Indonesia and Malaysia, north to southern Japan and south to Queensland


Size: Up to 6 in (15 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit shallow sandy and muddy areas in coastal reefs


General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C) and has a natural diet of benthic invertebrate and zooplankton. Requires a live meaty diet, such as enriched live brine shrimp, amphipods, and copepods, with numerous feedings per day. Should be maintained in small groups of five or more. Should only be maintained in well-established reef-like environments with heavy growths of macroalgae and benthic invertebrates. Should be maintained in small groups of five or more.
