Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Aldabra and the Seychelles, New Caledonia, southern Japan, and south to Australia
Size: Up to 6 in (15 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit shallow coastal reefs and found in small groups in lagoons amongst heavy coral growths
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C) and has a natural diet of benthic invertebrate and zooplankton. Often found among the spines of sea urchins and branching corals. Requires a live meaty diet, such as enriched live brine shrimp, amphipods, and copepods, with numerous feedings per day. Should be maintained in small groups of five or more. Should only be maintained in well-established reef-like environments with heavy growths of macroalgae and benthic invertebrates. Should be maintained in small groups of five or more.
