General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 80°F (22 - 27°C) and have a natural diet of small fishes and crustaceans. They require meaty foodstuffs, e.g., mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and enriched fresh fish and shrimp flesh. One per aquarium; not safe with invertebrate or smaller fishes, and should have at least one feeding of meaty foodstuffs per day. This very colorful species is rarely seen in the trade and probably better left in the wild because its taken from depths of 200 to 1000 feet (60 - 300 m) and would be difficult to maintain in captivity.
