Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: East Africa to Galapagos Islands, Ryukyu Islands, New South Wales Australia


Size: Up to 4 in (10 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit protected reef flats, lagoons and reef channels


General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 83°F (22 - 28°C) and has a natural diet of small fishes and shrimp. It takes many color forms and makes an interesting small aquarium specimen fish. In captivity it generally requires live food, and is difficult to get it to take defrosted fish and shrimp flesh. Not often seen in the trade, and keep in mind this is a venomous fish.
