Range: Tropical Western Pacific Ocean

Size: Up to 5 in (12 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits muddy and/or algae overgrown bottoms areas in lagoons, reef flats, and reef channels at depths of 10 – 500 feet (3 – 160 m)

General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 80°F (22 – 27°C) and has a natural diet of small fishes and shrimp. Mimics plant debris with its long horn-like and mustache-like facial projections. In captivity, generally requires live food, at least in the beginning. May be trained to take defrosted fish and shrimp flesh on a feeding stick, however, some will and some will not take it and die if not fed live foods. Requires a tank with a lot of coral rubble and rocks. Rarely seen in the trade.
