Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: East Africa south to Port Alfred South Africa and east to Tuamotu Islands, also Taiwan, New South Wales and Japan

Size: Up to 4 in (10 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabit shallow inner reef flats and protected lagoons, usually found in weedy and rocky areas

General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C) and natural diet consists filamentous green algae and benthic invertebrate. Requires an enriched meaty diet with some vegetable matter, e.g., brine shrimp, earthworms, tubifex, worms, finely chopped fish and shrimp flesh, and should also have some fresh greens to graze upon. Requires numerous daily feedings. May nip tankmate's fins.
