Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Red Sea, Australia, East Africa, Fiji, southern Japan
Size: Up to 6 inches (15 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit shallow protected lagoons where there is an abundance of weedy areas
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 to 82°F (22 - 28°C) and feeds upon benthic invertebrate and zooplankton. Requires a live meaty diet such as glass/grass shrimp and enriched live brine shrimp with numerous daily feedings and a reef-like environment. Always found in pairs. Rarely seen in the trade and better left in the wild.
