Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Cocos and Christmas Islands in the eastern Indian Ocean and Line and Tuamotu Islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to Shark Bay and Great Barrier Reef

Size: Up to 12 inches (30 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabit protected lagoons and outer reef areas rich in coral growth

General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C) and feeds upon algae covered rock and coral branches/mounds. Requires numerous feedings per day with a varied diet containing some meaty foodstuffs and a lot of vegetable matter. Safe to keep with soft corals, but not stony corals. Rarely seen in the trade.
