Range: Western Pacific Ocean: Japan to Australia


Size: Up to 3 inches (7 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit lagoons and reefs rich in Pocillopora and Stylophora growth


General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C) and natural diet consists mainly of benthic invertebrate and some very small fishes. Requires a meaty diet, i.e., enriched brine shrimp, mysis, finely chopped fish or shrimp flesh, and/or carnivore frozen foods, with at least one feeding per day. It may attempt to eat small ornamental shrimp and snails, including very small fish, e.g., Neon Gobies, so may not be desirable in some reef aquariums. Has a propensity to jump out of the tank. Requires excellent water quality, yet extremely hardy and disease resistant.
