Range: Western Central Atlantic Ocean: Bermuda, Caribbean and eastern Gulf of Mexico

Size: Up to 5 inches (12.5 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabit reef areas from 10 to 100 feet (3 - 30 m)

General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 70 - 80°F (21 - 28°C) and natural diet consists mainly of benthic invertebrate and/or smaller fishes. Requires a meaty diet, i.e., enriched chopped fish and/or shrimp flesh, with at least one feeding per day. It will, however, attempt to eat small ornamental shrimp, therefore it may not be desirable in some reef aquariums. Requires numerous hiding places. A good mantis shrimp eater.
