Species Name: Coryphopterus personatus (Jordan & Thompson, 1905)


Range: Western Central Atlantic Ocean: Florida, Bermuda, Bahamas to northern South America, including Lesser Antilles


Size: Up to 2 inches (5 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit shaded areas and caves near large coral columns and heads


General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 79°F (22 - 27°C) and their natural diet consists mainly of benthic invertebrate. Requires a meaty diet, i.e., enriched brine shrimp, mysis, finely chopped fish or shrimp flesh, and other various frozen carnivore foods, with one or two feedings per day. They should be housed in aquariums with a sandbed of at least two inches in depth and not housed with aggressive fishes such as groupers, dottybacks, triggerfishes or angelfishes. Has been reared in captivity.
