Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Red Sea to Hawaii, Line, Marquesas, Tuamotu Islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia and Rapa Islands
Size: Up to 20 inches (50 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit shallow coral, rocky and sandy bottom areas on reef flats and in lagoons
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C) and natural diet consists mainly of benthic invertebrate, including octopus. Requires a meaty diet with numerous feedings per day. Needs a wide-open sandy bottom and lots of swimming space, with non-aggressive tankmates.
