Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean

Size: Up to 8 inches (20 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow fringing reefs and gentle sloped areas containing small and large polyp corals

General Husbandry: Has a temperature of 72 ­ 80°F (22 ­ 27°C). Occasionally seen in the trade and requires a meaty diet of live shrimp, small fishes, or an enriched diet of defrosted marine flesh. Since these are sedentary fishes, their metabolism is quite low. Therefore, infrequent feedings of once or twice a week for adults and three or four times a week for juveniles is highly recommended. Small live fish/shrimp, preferably marine species, or frozen foodstuffs suspended/impaled on a long stick will suffice. This species is better maintained in a small aquarium without eatable tankmates.
