Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: North Carolina to Brazil
Size: Up to 10 inches (25 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit areas over sandy and rocky bottoms and long edges of seagrass beds
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 70 - 76°F (21 - 24°C) and requires mostly live foods and should be fed several times per day. A difficult fish to get eating frozen type foods. Also quite shy and needs hiding places. Will eat smaller fishes and ornamental shrimp. Should be housed with either its own kind or very peaceful tankmates.
