Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Mauritius and Maldives to the Solomon Islands, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to the Great Barrier Reef
Size: Up to 5 inches (12 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit outer reef slope rubble areas
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C). Natural diet consists mainly of zooplankton. Requires a meaty diet, i.e., enriched brine shrimp, mysis, finely chopped fish or shrimp flesh, with one or two feedings per day. Could well be more of these fishes are lost by jumping out of the tank than for all other reasons combined! Should have some caves to hide in. Rarely seen in the trade.
