Common Name: Goldbelly Damselfish

Species Name: Pomacentrus auriventris Allen 1978


Range: Indo-Malaysian Archipelago.


Size: Up to 3 inches (7 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit rubble areas on inshore and outer slope areas, and found at depths between 6 - 35 feet (2 - 11 m)


General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C). Natural diet consists mostly of algae and some zooplankton. Requires a meaty diet with some algae with two or three feedings per day. Generally very territorial and it is recommended they not be added to community aquariums until after all the more peaceful fishes have been placed into the system.
