Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: eastern Africa and Red Sea to the Philippines, Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands, Palau, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and northern Australia
Size: Up to 6 inches (15 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit lagoon and outer reef corals at depths between 3 - 30 feet (1 - 10 m) and sometimes found in soft corals
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C). Has a natural diet of benthic invertebrate, zooplankton, and will feed on soft coral polyps. Requires a meaty diet with some algae with two or three feedings per day. May pick on clam mantles. Get very bold with age.
