Range: Eastern Pacific Ocean from Monterey Bay, California to the West Coast of Baja California, Mexico and Guadalupe Island

Size: Up to 12 inches (30 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabit inshore rocky reefs and Kelp forests at depths between 3 - 100 feet (1 - 30 m)

General Husbandry: A cold water species that requires an approximate water temperature of 57°F. Collection of this species in California waters is illegal. Requires a meaty diet with some algae with two or three feedings per day.
