Species Name: Dascyllus reticulatus (Richardson, 1846)


Range: Western Pacific and the eastern Indian Ocean: Cocos-Keeling Islands, Western Australia, Gulf of Thailand, South China Sea, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, and Ryukyu Islands


Size: Up to 3 inches (7 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabits branching coral in lagoons and offshore coral growths at depths between 3 to 150 feet (1 - 50 m)


General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C). Natural diet consists of zooplankton and benthic invertebrate. Requires a meaty diet with some algae with two or three feedings per day. Hardy, but devils when they mature. Should only be kept with larger and more aggressive fishes.
