Species Name: Chromis atripectoralis Welander & Schultz, 1951
Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: widespread except Hawaiian Islands
Size: Up to 4 inches (10 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit inshore areas, lagoons, and coral growths at depths between 3 to 30 feet (1 - 10 m)
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C). Natural diet consists mainly of zooplankton. A hardy fish, and is easily kept in groups. Requires an enriched meaty diet with some algae with two or three feedings per day. Similar to C. viridis, however this fish has black at the inner portion of the pectoral fins.
