Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and Christmas Island to the Tuamotu Islands, southern Japan, New Caledonia and throughout Micronesia
Size: Up to 4 inches (10 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit coastal reef flats and shallow lagoons
General Husbandry: Temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C) and natural diet consists mainly of small invertebrate and feeds at night. A hardy fish and easily maintained in the aquarium. Will accept a wide variety of meaty foodstuffs. Prefers a dimly lit environment with caves and can be maintained in small groups. Not often seen in the trade.
